Today, on July 15, 2018, the Bijaalu Himagar, Green House, Central Tissue Culture Laboratory and Plantation Festival were inaugurated in the seed building of Gabtoli Mirpur farm of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC). Honorable Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, MP, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the Green House and Central Tissue Culture Laboratory as the chief guest. Honorable MP of Dhaka-14 constituency Mr. Md. Aslamul Haque MP was present as special guest while he inaugurated the Bijaalu Humgarh, which has a capacity of 2000 MT. Mr. Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, was also present as special guest. The guests started the BADC Tree Plantation Festival by planting native fruit seedlings. The program was chaired by BADC Chairman Mr. Nasiruzzaman.

Apart from this, Member of BADC (Seed and Gardens) Mr. Md Mahmud Hossain, Member Director (Fertilizer Management) Mr. Jarna Begum, Member Director (Small Sections) Mr. Md. Abdul Jalil and Secretary of the Company Mr. Tulsi Ranjan Shaha along with the Ministry of Agriculture, various organizations. , Senior BADC officials and local Awami League and other leaders were present.

Honorable Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury MP said that Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has revived BADC. The government has adopted various policies for the development of agriculture. We went to GMO, went to BT brinjal. We will accept any scientific invention without any harm to health. BADC has worked to increase food production. The Hon'ble Minister expressed firm determination to take the country forward.

Honorable Agriculture Minister also said that the dream of Bangabandhu was to create hunger and poverty free Sonar Bangla. We have achieved the country's food self-sufficiency in implementing his dream. Due to self-sufficiency in food, the Honorable Prime Minister received the Ceres Medal by FAO. We have simplified the bank loan, giving tenants the opportunity to open a bank account at Tk 10 and reduced the cost of fertilizer. The recent success of Bengal's agriculture has recognized the world. We are getting vegetables all year due to hybrid. Bangladesh is in third place in the production of vegetables.

Speaking as special guest, Mr. Md. Aslamul Haque, Honorable Member of Parliament of Dhaka-14 constituency said that the country has become a food impedance country from food shortage in the country when Awami League is in power. The country has achieved self sufficiency in food through the hard work of all the officers of the Ministry of Agriculture.
